Come to Morris Township Hall next Monday, March 11, and let New Jersey Transit and the rest of us know how you feel about the trains we lost last fall and still are not running!

There will be a hearing next Monday at 6:00, specifically designed to give you the chance to make your voice heard about the trains we lost. This meeting will be the last in a series of five that began in Atlantic City two weeks ago. There were also meetings in Cherry Hill in South Jersey and in Westfield and Somerville on the Raritan Valley Line.

This session will be the only one scheduled in the vicinity of the Morris & Essex Line. It was set for a place that is not accessible by transit, but we are helping you get there.

Morris Township, in cooperation with the Lackawanna Coalition, is making two runs with the town's 15-passenger van to meet transit-dependent riders at Convent Station and take us to the hearing. The van will leave Convent Station at 5:45 and 6:50 pm, although it will wait for eastbound and westbound trains that are due at about those times. Returning, the van will leave Town Hall at 7:10 and 8:00; in time to catch eastbound and westbound connecting trains. There will be no fare for this shuttle, although capacity is limited (two runs in a 15-passenger vehicle), and the vehicle is not handicap-accessible. We are attaching the schedule, with a list of connecting trains.

So, if you depend on transit for mobility, you can still go to the hearing and make your voice heard. We look forward to seeing you there.
