We have received word that Dennis J. Martin, currently head of NJT Bus, will be appointed Interim Executive Director. Martin is credited with reducing delays for bus arrivals and departures during the afternoon peak-commuting hours at Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City.
Martin will begin his new job on Monday. He will replace Veronique "Ronnie" Hakim, who is leaving NJT to return to New York's MTA.
We congratulate Mr. Martin and wish him well in his new position, and we recognize that his appointment comes at a challenging time for NJ Transit.
